This bodice dagger was created from a used hockey skate blade. The curl on the handle was forged using a coal forge. The blade shape was created through stock removal, then the entire piece was buffed on an electric wheel to a mirror finish. The piece was completed with the guidance and tutelage of bladesmith Dan Choszczyck. I wore it at my wedding.

Very nice. I like this a lot. :)

Thank you. It's by far my best metalwork that I've done so far.

Looks very nice, and natural. You Brits just have it in your blood...
:iconpulchrapuella:
LOL. I'm actually not British. Just here for a few years while my husband is doing grad school. I'm from Colorado/Michigan. I appreciate the sentiment, however.

Well, still nice work, even though my thesis fell flat...
:iconpulchrapuella:
Thank you. I really do appreciate it.

Ouch! Very nice blade - is it stainless? From an old Mile High machinist.
:iconpulchrapuella:
Thank you. It's a type of air-hardening stainless, not sure of the alloy content, though. It's just a used hockey skate blade, but not even sure which company it's from. They turn out nice boddice daggers.

Words cannot express how awesome this is. I especially love that it was made from an old skate blade.
